January 2024: Revised edition of The Guide to the Standard and The Assessment Guide (January 2023)

Following the publication in January 2023 by the Department for Education of revised guidance to schools and colleges on their careers guidance duties, the Consortium Board issued revised editions of (i) The Guide to the Standard and (ii) The Assessment Guide. These took full account of the changed legislative requirements including ‘provider access’.

In January 2024 the Guide to the Standard was updated to incorporate the inspections of careers education in Independent Schools (see section 1.10 page 6) and the CEC’s “Careers Impact System” (see the endnote on page 25). These changes do not require amendments to the Assessment Guide so the 2023 edition remains current.
